This very rare manual drive option of the already rare XJC, is a delight to drive.
It was reportedly changed to the genuine Jaguar Series II, 4 speed manual
(with electric triggered overdrive) very early in its life. Mechanically, the Coupe drives without problems.
There is a new alternator and also new front cross member mounts were fitted recently.
A recent 13 hour round trip to Brisbane was smooth and greatly enjoyed. There are comfortable sheepskins over the leather seats – all original except the driver’s and all in good condition.
The XJC was extensively restored over 25 years ago, and maintains a great look though the duco has some long term and stable mostly tiny moisture bubbles under it which shows of course that any rust is very minor.
The chrome wheels could be redone. Regardless of and given these 2 latter issues, the Manual Coupe’s rarity commands a valuation of at least $37K.
The asking price is below this so check the photos and come and see for yourself. My circumstances dictate that sadly its time to move the Coupe on – all sensible offers will be considered seriously.
